Week 4 at the Sweet Pea Stampers - Acetate and Tag You're It Week 2 - I can See Clearly

Good morning to you all, how was your weekend? I hope you have all had a wonderful one, with plenty of sunshine! I spent mine in the greenhous planting some seeds, and also a few more DT cards, oh girls, you will be so proud of me, im really getting organized!!! Mind you the trip to Shepton Mallet on the 21st has made me determined to get ahead of myself. I dont want to fall behind with my DT work while im away, and I want to spend the week before hand with the children, and not crafting. Remember if any of you are going to the show, please pop by and say 'Hi!' I will be working on the Anna-Marie Designs with my friend Anna. Drop me an email and let me know you will be going, it would be great to meet some of my blogging friends, and put a face to the name.
So enough rambling from me onto todays challenges.

SWEET PEA STAMPERS CHALLENGE 4 - Acetate

Its my second week at the Sweet Pea Stampers and im having a ball!! i am loving the challenge to work with these wonderful designs, they are all soooooo adorable.

This weeks challenge is to use some Acetate on your card/project. Now im not one for acetate generally as i find it rather hard to stamp with. I decided therefore to minimise the amount of acetate I had to work with, and just used acetate to stamp her wings again.

I used some stickles to highlight her wings and because it was difficult to use glue (without it showing, I have to admit to being a bit sadistic, and putting a slit between this lovely fairies wings and back and adding a tab to the wings which i could slip in and tape in place at the back!

Presto, no sign of the wings being attached! and with the addition of silicone glue underneath the tab managed to keep the wings out at an angle.

Glossy accented the stars and the flames on the candle. Lucky me, found some acetate flowers too that ive had in my stash for a while now, so thought they would be a perfect embelishment, along with some die cut fern leaves.

Satin roses added to the centre of the acetate flowers.

The image has been coloured with my pro markers and the background has been distressed with milled lavender distress ink.

It would be absolutely great to have you join us with this weeks challenge, please go check out the Dt's work here. I do not know how i have managed to join these talented ladies, maybe they got the wrong Linda !!!
Tag You're It - Week 2 - I can See Clearly
Secondly its Week 2 at the Tag You're It Challenge blog.
Now as ive already mentioned acetate is not my forte!! so this clearly was a challenge for me! i have used alcohol inks to colour my acetate and some flowers from the "Greenhouse" collection from American Crafts, which ive had yonks, but have never known what to do with!
I layered them up and fixed them with some pearl bead centres. The flourish has been stamped and i coloured some butterfly sequins to co-ordinate with the acetate. I decoupaged 2 butterlies together to give dimension and added some glass baubles for extra detail. The flourish stamp is a stamp, unknown brand im afraid. Finished with ribbon.
Now as you know tags are not my thing normally, so this is proving to be more of a challenge for me than I had anticipated, but I am enjoying it, so thank you girls, for inviting to be part of this team, you are all fabulous inspiration to me. For more inspiration go check out the challenge blog here. You will love what you find.

Anyway my lovelies, have a lovely day and back tomorrow with another challenge card!

Hugs Linda x
