Sketch Saturday Challenge and new Hair Do!

Good morning, and what a gorgeous morning it is. The suns shining the children have gone out with their brother and im just off to the tea room for lunch. First i wanted to post my card for this weeks Saturday Sketchers challenge. I love these Pollycraft images. I have made this card for a friends mother who has recently had a fall. The papers are hotp and the sentiment is also a hotp rub on.

Also thank you all for the interest in my new hair cut. On reflection it is not too different from my hair before, but ive finally got a photo to load. As it didn't look much different my sons girlfriend curled it for me last night.

This is the result! Not sure about it, but it makes the style look a bit different. Sorry about the naff photos, but i don't like having my photo taken, i always look really miserable or a bit too cheesy!

Well thats it from me im off for lunch, hope you have a great Saturday however your chosing to spend it. Hugs Linda x

A Birthday Card and a RAK

Its Thursday evening already, and this is the first time i've posted for a few days. I have been busy with other things, with Jasmine back at school its been back to teaching Ben. I managed a couple of cards but im afraid no challenges so far this week.

Today is my sons girlfriends birthday, this is the card that i made up for her. The papers are from a christmas stack by Papermania i believe. The image is surrounded by a border stamp coloured with various sakura glitter pens. The whiff of joy image itself is coloured using my favourite pro-markers.
The flowers are metal bead caps with holographic sequins inside finished off with a flat back pearl. The sentiment is one of the fabulous craftwork crafts sentiments and the flower is a punch by SU.

INCY WINCY CHILDRENS CHARITY

My lovely friend Heather is promoting a childrens charity called Incy Wincy.

I was sent some gorgeous downloads to use to make a card with to promote the charity and to get you to look at the downloads. Here is the card that i made, using a ready coloured image of these gorgeous koala bears. With the recent bushfires in Australia, i thought they might appeal to many of you who may have friends or relatives out there.

HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON LUCA

A friend of mine's grandson has recently had an eye operation. I made this card to wish him well. I think this is an elzybels image although im not sure. The papers are from the basic grey range. Brads are American crafts. Hope Luca liked it.

This is a quick card made for a friend no special reason just to say thinking of you. I love this tilda image, she looks great just sitting there thinking!

A RAK

What a great surprise i had on Wednesday morning, when the postman arrived. I received this gorgeou card and beautifully decorated box from my great friend Emma.

I adore the gorgeous card and the beautifully decorated box, thank you so much Emma.

So those who know me, know i've been talking about getting my hair cut for weeks, or even months now. After a rather un flattering comment from my darling husband this morning I finally got to the hairdressers this afternoon. I can not believe how much lighter my head feels now, i feel so much tidier too. My day was made by the young man who cut my hair, whilst talking about what he had been up to through out his younger years (the joke of it is he is only 24yr old now!!) i began talking to him about my dear son, who has of late been a real worry to us. His comment was he couldn't believe i had a nineteen old son as i didn't look old enough! and then said that i must have had him when i was very young. Of course he had the gift of the gab i know that, but im a sad middle aged woman after all!!! and it still made my day!
I have to say i would highly recommend a male hairdresser, its the best hair cut i've ever had! and great conversation too. Im booked in again in 6 weeks time!!
Well another weekend looming, i have nothing special planned. Hubby is planning a day of golf on Sunday, weather permitting. I think thats means ill be able to play with my crafting goodies. I am afraid i gave in and brought some of those gorgeous Daisy and Dandelion stamps by the ever talented Claire, i can't wait to have a play with them.
So i hope to see you all again over the weekend, have a good evening.
Hugs Linda x

Whilst visiting my lovely friend Tashas blog, i came across a new challenge blog called Fun-Frilled Challenge . This looks like an exciting new challenge blog, go take a look for yourself. This is my entry for this weeks challenge labelled Fun and Frilly. My frilly take is the ribbon and punch. I love this funky kits image, he is one of my favourites.

CRAFTY PAD CHALLENGE WEEK 10/Roses on Paper Challenge.

Good afternoon ladies, can you believe its sunday afternoon already? where has the day gone, or the week, come to think of it. One more day of relaxation before the school run begins again.

Well i have made a couple of cards this weekend. Firstly my challenge card for the Crafty Pad Challenge week 10, then a card for the Paper on Roses challenge.

CRAFTY PAD CHALLENGE WEEK 10

I am late in posting my Crafty Pad Challenge Card week 10, sorry ladies.

So this is one of my favourite Faith stamps. Available from Debbies blog.

Debbie also has some new stamps coming out this week, you will see them below. They are different from the ones you've seen before, some gorgeous bear images. For those of you who are not into cute, there are some gorgeous butterflies. You can get them both here.

The prize up for grabs this week are these 3 packets of embelishments.

This is the fabulous sketch you have to work with this week. Isn't it just fab? have fun with it this week ladies.

So ladies these are the adorable teddy bear images, aren't they just gorgeous? i can't wait to get my hands on these for a bit of a play.

Then there are these gorgeous butterlies. Aren't they fabulous, great for mothers day cards i think!

PAPER ON ROSES CHALLENGE Love and Friendship

This is my entry into this weeks challenge over at the Paper on Roses challenge, titled Love and Friendship. I have used one of the fabulous Sarah Kay images, and chosen gold papers to compliment the image. Im afraid i don't know where the printed acetate came from, but the gold embossed card was from Anna-Maries designs.

I used the cuttlebug hearts cutting die and the swiss dots embossing folder. Ribbon is from my own stash.

This card was made out of an image id coloured ages ago. Very quick and simple, with papers from a HOTP pad. I have used this pad alot lately, there are some gorgeous papers in there.

So thats it from me this weekend, hope you all have a great afternoon, hugs Linda x

Its Saturday again and the sun is shining. What a gorgeous day, i think we are being lurred into a false sense of security. What mad weather we have here in the uk. Snow one week, sun and warm temperatures the next. I bet come Tuesday morning when i have to do the dreaded school run, it will be ice and frost again!

I have finally got round to making a couple of cards for challenges.
SUGAR BOWL CHALLENGE
This is my entry into this weeks Sugar Bowl Challenge Week 4. I have to say what a gorgeous sketch. Its the first week i've been able to make a card for this great challenge blog. The papers are from a HOTP pad and of course a gorgeous sugar nellie image.

PAPERCRAFT PLANET SKETCH WK 4
Then secondly i made this card for the Papercraft Challenge group Christmas Stamping All year Long. I have used this cute snowman image, one of my favourites last christmas. Papers sorry not sure where they're from.

Friendship cards

I can hardly believe the half term holiday is almost over. I've achieved very little this week. I did however get to make 2 cards this morning which im thrilled about!!! Its a beautiful day here the sun is out, and Ben is on the mend. He has had a throat virus since Tuesday and been really poorly which has meant we have been in most of the week! I woke up with a cold yesterday morning and my head still feels a little bit heavy!

I was feeling very sorry for myself on Tuesday as it would have appeared that most of my friends had received their gorgeous new whiff of joy club stamps. Mine did not turn up until Thursday. But, of course as all good things, they were well worth the wait. I spent yesterday afternoon/evening inking up the stamps, and later this afternoon im going to start colouring some in.

I have already seen some gorgeous cards by you clever ladies using the new images, they look a dream to work with. Now im looking forward to the next kit to be launched, whenever that may be.

As most of my friends know, its been a really hard time for me lately with lots of problems at home. I don't think we're out of the woods yet, but definitely things seem on the right track! I just want to once again thank all those wonderful friends who have emailed me with their support and wishes. You will never know just how much that has meant to me. I feel very lucky to have such wonderful friends.

However i felt i had to mention that although all that has happened has been very traumatic for me and my husband this terrible time has also brought into my life a very special person who emailed me and has been a tower of strength to me. I think she will know who she is, but hunny just want to let you know, you made me see things from another angle, and that has proved invaluable! It has given me hope that my son will, when he's ready, turn his life around. I will never forget your kind email, and i know you have been having a bad time of it yourself lately, remember if i can help in any way im here. THANK YOU!

So ladies i coloured this image in with the intentions of making a valentines card. Of course as per usual i wasn't organized well enough and didn't get chance to use it. So i decided to use it in a friendsip card. My favourite Melinda stamp and for me a different colour scheme for a change.

The papers are from a HOTP TSV from QVC sometime last year. Ribbons from stash, and flowers are Prima, with flower spacers in the centres.

This card i made earlier in the week for another special friend. Her son is home from Iraq, after doing a marvellous job out there. He celebrated his 21st birthday on Thursday. Hope you had a fantastic birthday Adam. Donna, enjoy having your wonderful son home, love to you all XXXX

Then finally another friendship card that i made this morning. Another image already coloured and one of my favourite Rachelle Miller images. I have no idea what papers they are, as i received them via one of Karins fabulous RAK swaps. The butterfly was a free gift from a craft magazine, and th flowers are sequins with diamantes in the middle.

So ladies i think spring is on the way, looking forward to making some nice bright spring cards this weekend. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the half term and look forward to catching up with you all again tomorrow.
I am off to do some blog hopping now. Hugs Linda x

Wk 4 DT Card

So this is our last week to use these particular stamps and papers, we will be returning next week with more gorgeous images! infact i have to admit these are my favourites so far, so don't forget to pop back next week to see them.

This final card reminds me of my daughter Jasmine, with those cute freckles and cheeky face. Unfortunately she doesn't bring me flowers, at least not since she was much younger, when she would pick the heads of my lovely pansys!!!! thankfully she did grow out of that stage. I know she would adore a pair of wellies like these as she loves wearing her wellingtons.

I would urge you to take a look at the other dt cards, the links are below.

B-Day, X-mas card Challenge Week 19

Its Tuesday already ladies. I apologise for posting this weeks B-day X-mas card challenge late. I have had a busy week and the time has just flown by. More problems at home with certain members of my family, but hopefully we are over the worst of it now.

I hope you are all enjoying the more relaxing half term week!! i am enjoying the lazy mornings, and im ashamed to say i am still in my nightwear!! infact i might not bother changing today, i've woken up with a headcold and feel a bit grubby (and look even worse!!!).

I went to load my card first thing this morning but have spent some of the morning looking for the cable that downloads my photos to the computer!!! one of my little darlings had borrowed it and forgot where they put it, arrrghhhhhh!!! Anyway this weeks card is using one of the fabulous pink petticoat downloads. I love this elephant. Papers are some of the new Smirk papers, sentiment off my computer and ribbon and flower from stash.

This weeks sketch is by the fabulous Kristin. Her work is fabulous you should go over and take a look.
This is the fabulous prize up for grabs this week, arent those crochet flowers and brads just gorgeous? wouldn't mind winning them myself!!

So ladies, i hope to be back later on this week with some Mothers Day Cards, if im able to get myself motivated.. The MOJO seems to have wondered off again.
Will hopefully get round to visit your blogs tomorrow, did catch up over the weekend, but i know you've all been busy since then with more gorgeous makes.
Enjoy your day and speak soon, hugs Linda x

Even better this Friday as the school break up for half term!! So ladies, week 3 of our dt cards. I hope you are enjoying these wonderful stamps and papers.

This weeks card is a bit different to my previous cards. I have used the more subtle papers, and am loving the pink polka dots and contrasting brown. All products i have used are available from TAC (The Angel Company) via Jany. I have to admit these papers were my two favourites, but then as you all know im a pink girl (okay, not girl , old lady!!) and pink and brown are my favourite combination!

Wk 18 Just Birthday/Christmas Card Challenge

Monday morning again ladies. No snow, but it hasn't stopped raining since i got up this morning! I heard there has been more snow, so if you do have some, hope its not causing you too many problems this morning. I cant wait till Friday as Jasmine breaks up from school for her half term holiday. Yes, more relaxed mornings for me, i can't wait!

I worked at the craft shop this weekend. It was the monthly craft weekend. oh my goodness it was busy, and very cold!!! They made 6 lovely cards, one of which im going to try and have a go at later this week. Unfortunately Im behind with my DT commitments, so i apologise for the delay in posting my card this week. This is this weeks sketch for the Birthday/Christmas card challenge. Its a lovely sketch by the lovely Amanda i believe.

My christmas card is using one of the gorgeous penny black hedgehog images. I was sent this via a RAK i love this image. Sentiment from stock and im afraid don't remember where the papers are from! The poinsettia is from our local garden centre.

This weeks prize is a wonderful stamp named "Adoration" from the wonderful Paula over at Pollycrafts. Paula has some gorgeous stamps and downloads, so please go take a look if you are not familiar with her work.

I hope to do a birthday card to this sketch later today if i get round to it, ill add it to this post. Hope you have a great day no matter how you are spending it. Hugs Linda x

Love Challenge Wk 8/Kaboodle challenge

Good morning ladies and what a lovely sunny morning it is. I am late with my card this week, ive only just made it, sorry Debbie. Working yesterday and today i ran out of time, and yesterday i came home from work with a splitting headache and feeling feint! Went to bed early, feel a bit better now but not completely right. Anyway this is my card for this weeks challenge over at the Crafty Pad and this weeks challenge is LOVE. The image on my card is from the new range of Faith stamps, i love this one. Papers are from the imaginese range and some bazill bling. The frame is from the Carol Wilson range, available from Anna Marie designs . The frame was a card but ive trimmed round it and cut the back off. I have to say these frames are simply stunning, they are embossed which is not clear from my terrible photo!
The prize this week is this lovley bundle of love sentiments and ribbon, aren't they gorgeous?
This is a card for this weeks Kaboodle challenge. I love this papers which are a download and the heart too. Only the bear is not from Kaboodle it is an Elzybels stamp, what a cutie he is.

Well thats me done, must get off to work before im late. Have a good evening and i hope to catch up with you all later this week.
Hugs Linda x

Week 2

Good morning ladies, i trust you have had a good week. I can not believe its Friday again, but i say this every week, do i not???? I am told its because im getting old that the weeks fly by so quickly, if this is true, im in serious trouble, by the time im 50 i might as well stay in bed and sleep through the week! Sometimes its hard to relate to my children when they are complaining because i've told them they will have to wait till next week, which in my terms seems like tomorrow, but to them they whine that, thats ages away!!!

So its week two of our cards showcasing the Angel Company stamps and papers. I hope you like what i have done this week. I have to say these images are a delight to colour and i just adore the bright bold papers!

On this card i have glittered some of the paper and added diamond glaze to the red circles. These are simply the design on the paper which i have cut around, to form more interest to the border. Hope you like it.

If anyone has taken a look at these products please leave me a comment and tell me what you think of them.

Please don't forget to go and take a look at the other dt members creations, links below.

Valentines Cards/Get well Millie

Two posts in one day ladies, im doing well. However, this will be it till Friday as i have lots to get on with, and im behind already.

Wanted to post the cards i've made this week. Firstly this tilda card was made for a special little girl called Millie, who has been poorly. Hope your feeling much better now Millie. I love these papers which are from basic grey, the flowers are prima with a bead in the front. The leaves are a McGill punch. Ribbon from stash.

This is an anniversary card i made for a friend. I have had this alota image coloured for weeks, infact probably months, but couldn't decide how to use it till now. Have given this a kind of distressed look, at least that was the idea. Flowers are the retro punch with prima leaves. Image coloured using my pro markers. Ribbon from stash and the sentiment was printed on my computer.

VALENTINE CARDS
As most of you know i was struggling with my valentine cards but they are now done. Had a blitz monday and yesterday and here is the result:-

Loving the Elzybels valentine images, these bears are a dream to work with. Coloured using my pro markers. Sentiment printed, the heart is a die from Sissix, its part of the Sizzix love collection flourish die set.

Using one of the gorgeous Melinda images.

Another Elzybels bear, how cute, and these papers are from the Kaboodle downloads. I have to say these papers are great to work with.

And more Elzybels images using the cuttlebug cut and emboss folder for the hearts.

image coloured using pro-markers.

More papers from the kaboodle download site along with one of their love sentiments. Again the adorable Elzybels stamps!

Its that bear again! and more kaboodle papers.
More bears .....
and more .......

Bet you glad thats the last of the bears, these are a couple of simple cards using the free download on the Pollycrafts site. Again using the fabulous pro-markers, these images were a dream to work with.

Finally a very basic card, not my usual style, but trying to appeal to everyone!

So thats it, my valentine cards are done. At least thats all im doing for now. I still have some images coloured and waiting to be mounted but might use them for anniversary cards or for birthdays.
Hope you are all enjoying some sunshine today, its so lovely here. I have my babies sitting on my shoulder soaking up some of the suns rays. I am now off to stamp up those images that i've promised. Hope you all have a good day no matter what you are doing.
Speak soon, hugs Linda x
