Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #6 - Sketch

Another weekend almost over and so far just one card made from me this weekend!!! I had so many things planned, and as per always they all went to pot!!

I was determined to get one card challenge done today, so finally a card for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. This is the first time i've entered this challenge, in fact i came across this by chance. I have made this card for a special little girl called Abbie, who has been poorly lately.

I love these hanglar images and the image has been coloured with my pro-markers. I need to concentrate on my shading! any tips gratefully received.

The hearts have been glossy accented and put on pads to raise them. The corner die cuts have been stickled. This little girl better like bling!

This has been a hectic weekend. For those of you who know me, know that my dad has been staying with me after an operation three weeks ago removing a blood clot from an artery in his neck. He had been doing well then Thursday he seemed to take a turn for the worst, he was incredibly sleepy and lost his apetite (not at all like him!). Friday i took him to the doctors and they prescribed him some anti-biotics after confirming he had some fluid on his lungs. The plan was for dad to return home Sunday (thats today). Fortunately the anti-biotics did the trick and dad was feeling better Saturday, i wanted him to stay here with us for a few more days but he insisted on returning home. Hubby is on his way back now from dropping him back home in Lydd.

I had the dreaded dentist appointment on Friday, i think i was more scared of being told off for not having a check up sooner than the tooth ache! as it turned out i had the most lovely dentist, infact he resembled Richard Gere, and had the most lovely softly spoken voice! Anyway it would appear its nothing drastic, not really. Its an old filling causing the trouble, but because the tooth is right at the back and difficult to get to he has said to leave it unless i get more pain. My options are a root canal filling (which he explained would be very difficult because its so far back) or extraction. Well i have decided on the later, when the time comes. I have an appointment with the hygienist when we come back from our holiday and thats me done for six months.

As Maria said, the thought of going is much worse than being there! Basically ladies im a big baby!!

Talking of babies, my friend Kim has become a grandmother today, her daughter having given birth to little Isabella. Congratulations to Kim and her daugher Claire.

As if that wasn't enough, my babies have laid eggs!!! yes my beardies have been producing!! i can hardly believe it. For those of you not familiar with my babies, here they are!! So this afternoon we had to go and buy an incubator, and hopefully in little less than 90 days we will have baby beardies!!
Well thats my weekend activities, i trust you lovelies have had a wonderful weekend, i am off to do a bit of blog hopping before bed.
Have a good evening, hugs Linda x

Oh your card is lovely and I'm sure Abbie will love it, what little girl wouldn't, they always love sparkly things. Great idea adding the stickles to the die cuts and love those glossy hearts, they look so puffy when you look at them. Your coloring is wonderful too, I know shading is a hard thing to do, I also struggle with it, but I've learned to live with my coloring...lol
Hope your dad continues to be on the mend and congrats on the wee beardie babies, hope it goes well.
Thanks for taking part this week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge

Seems you've had a busy week Linda, hopefully you'll be able to get back into your usual routine next week. Can wait to see the babies, bet they'll look really cute and very dinky. A great card and a tip for the Promarkers or Copics. When shading I have the colours in my hand with the lids off and at the ready. Use the lightest colour 1st, then wuickly go over with the darker colour to shade and again quickly while the ink is still wet, over the top with the lightest pen again to shade. Hope that helps, all trial and error I think. Have a good week,
Clairexx

Wow! first of all congrats on the little beardies and babies. Too funny! Also, I'm glad your Dad is doing better. That is just always so stressful to worry about a family member's health. Third, very, very cute card. Beautiful color and I love all the bling, she has to like it! Hugs, hope you had a terrific weekend.

Fabby card!! Love the shades of blue and all the swirls. hope your dad feels better really soon!
As for shading..imagine a ligh somewhere above your image to the right or left. Where the light would hit it keep that the li8ghtest and where the light would miss that is your darker areas.
Hope that helps a teeny bit1 Hugs Judy xx
