A Birthday Card and a RAK

Its Thursday evening already, and this is the first time i've posted for a few days. I have been busy with other things, with Jasmine back at school its been back to teaching Ben. I managed a couple of cards but im afraid no challenges so far this week.

Today is my sons girlfriends birthday, this is the card that i made up for her. The papers are from a christmas stack by Papermania i believe. The image is surrounded by a border stamp coloured with various sakura glitter pens. The whiff of joy image itself is coloured using my favourite pro-markers.
The flowers are metal bead caps with holographic sequins inside finished off with a flat back pearl. The sentiment is one of the fabulous craftwork crafts sentiments and the flower is a punch by SU.

INCY WINCY CHILDRENS CHARITY

My lovely friend Heather is promoting a childrens charity called Incy Wincy.

I was sent some gorgeous downloads to use to make a card with to promote the charity and to get you to look at the downloads. Here is the card that i made, using a ready coloured image of these gorgeous koala bears. With the recent bushfires in Australia, i thought they might appeal to many of you who may have friends or relatives out there.

HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON LUCA

A friend of mine's grandson has recently had an eye operation. I made this card to wish him well. I think this is an elzybels image although im not sure. The papers are from the basic grey range. Brads are American crafts. Hope Luca liked it.

This is a quick card made for a friend no special reason just to say thinking of you. I love this tilda image, she looks great just sitting there thinking!

A RAK

What a great surprise i had on Wednesday morning, when the postman arrived. I received this gorgeou card and beautifully decorated box from my great friend Emma.

I adore the gorgeous card and the beautifully decorated box, thank you so much Emma.

So those who know me, know i've been talking about getting my hair cut for weeks, or even months now. After a rather un flattering comment from my darling husband this morning I finally got to the hairdressers this afternoon. I can not believe how much lighter my head feels now, i feel so much tidier too. My day was made by the young man who cut my hair, whilst talking about what he had been up to through out his younger years (the joke of it is he is only 24yr old now!!) i began talking to him about my dear son, who has of late been a real worry to us. His comment was he couldn't believe i had a nineteen old son as i didn't look old enough! and then said that i must have had him when i was very young. Of course he had the gift of the gab i know that, but im a sad middle aged woman after all!!! and it still made my day!
I have to say i would highly recommend a male hairdresser, its the best hair cut i've ever had! and great conversation too. Im booked in again in 6 weeks time!!
Well another weekend looming, i have nothing special planned. Hubby is planning a day of golf on Sunday, weather permitting. I think thats means ill be able to play with my crafting goodies. I am afraid i gave in and brought some of those gorgeous Daisy and Dandelion stamps by the ever talented Claire, i can't wait to have a play with them.
So i hope to see you all again over the weekend, have a good evening.
Hugs Linda x

BEAUTIFUL cards, LInda!!! Really lovely. I love that dragon, too! (As does Dilly!!)

I had my hair cut on Saturday in COlchester at a place called Peewees. I'd never been there before but I was very impressed. I used to have it long and all the same length, but I took the plunge and had lots of layers put in!!

I think it has knocked a few years off me, might even have put me back in my 30s!!!

They other a free 15 minute consultation a week later, to check that you're happy with it. I'm having mine tomorrow.

ALso, you can nip in between appointments and have your fringe trimmed for free!

AND!!! The chair you sit in as they wash your hair is a massage chair!!! I nearly dosed off!!!

And as of that isn't enough, you can have a free hand massage while it's being cut and free tea.

Well! They are really trying to get business, aren't they?! I am definitely going back. All that for £25. YUM!!!!

Will you be putting up a photo of your new look?

I might.... once this spot on my chin goes :)

Fabulous cards, you have been busy. They are all so different but all so great as well. Congrats on finally having the courage to get your hair done you will have to show us a piccy. My brother is a hairdresser and yes as most male hairdressers are he is !!!! if you get what I mean. He is great and has such a rapour with his customer they all love him to bits. Only prob is he is always to busy to cut my hair as often as I would like and I am ashamed to say it was last done before xmas and my blonde roots are now showing through my lovely redybrown colour.

Linda, glad your visit to the hairdressers went well. I had mine done last week-end and could never go back to shoulder length hair which I used to have as I am normally counting down the days to the 5 weeks being up!!!

Well that donkey is gorgeous and the colours you have used are so vibrant. I tried looking at that site re Incy Wincy and have logged in as a member but can't see anything to purchase - maybe I need to give it time.

Love the card which I think is Sarah Kay. The colours are like the donkey one - fun and so vibrant.

Hope you do manage to get some cards made at the week-end - fingers crossed - will be thinking about you.

Will you be showing us a piccie of your new hair do?
Can't wait to get mine cut in 2 weeks time, my hair is so thick I can only wear it up at the moment. I don't usually wait so long to get it done, but I booked it for the day before we go away to London for the weekend, at least it'll be nice for that.
Glad you enjoyed your day of pampering by a young man.
