Sugar Bowl Challenge - "hello little friend"

Can you believe it ladies, i actually got another challenge card done today. I am so happy that im actually managing to get some crafting done!! Well its week 10 at the Sugar Bowl Challenge, and this week is a fabulous sketch from the lovely Marlene.

What a fab sketch it is too, i shall definiately be using it again. I have used one of my favourite sugar nellie stamps and papers from a HOTP pad.

I used my pro markers to colour in the image, and not sure if you can see from this picture but the card is pearlescent. Double click on the image and you might see it clearer. Ribbon , flower buttons and flat backed pearls from stash.

Flower is my retro whate of a punch, with a prima flower followed by a rosebud.

Hope you've all had a lovely day, its been raining here ALL day and its cold, so i've had to put the heating back on! I can not believe how miserable its been, roll on Saturday and im heading for some sunshine , or at least i hope so!!!
Have a good evening, hugs Linda x

The ever talented Elizabeth has some fabulous blog candy up for grabs, this is open till the 24th May, so go here and take a look for yourself. I feel sure you will all want to win these lovely stamps!

To be in with a chance of winning this fabulous prize you have to recall a childhood memory. Wow, i can not believe what i thought of. Its something i had almost forgotten, or have maybe pushed to the back of my mind for reasons im not sure. But this memory brought with it a wave of emotions that i was un prepared for. The memory itself was times spent at my nanas when i was young. I used to stay there alot, my nana lived with her older brother George. He was nicknamed Grumpy Uncle George, not sure why because to me he never seemed grumpy. He was a big rotund man with no hair except a few strands on the side which he isisted on spreading over to the other side of his head! I actually don't remember too much except we used to sit outside in the over grown garden. The garden was a wild overgrown garden with a natural split level. We used to sit on the hill and just watch the long grass blowing in the wind. I can't remember actually speaking but just sitting. I also remember the lilac tree at the bottom of the garden in a little corner. I loved the lilac tree, i remember thinking how pretty it was and the lovely smell of the blossoms. Why were these such special moments? i dont know, but obviously they were to me. I have buried them for a long time, and i don't know why. Don't know why ive remembered them either, except maybe its because of the Paul McKenna books ive started reading. Im going to read a bit further and see what else comes up. Bet you all think ive gone mad!! not sure you wouldn't be right!

Well my lovelies, im off got some more reading to do and a DT card to make.

Have a lovely day, big hugs Linda x

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #6 - Sketch

Another weekend almost over and so far just one card made from me this weekend!!! I had so many things planned, and as per always they all went to pot!!

I was determined to get one card challenge done today, so finally a card for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. This is the first time i've entered this challenge, in fact i came across this by chance. I have made this card for a special little girl called Abbie, who has been poorly lately.

I love these hanglar images and the image has been coloured with my pro-markers. I need to concentrate on my shading! any tips gratefully received.

The hearts have been glossy accented and put on pads to raise them. The corner die cuts have been stickled. This little girl better like bling!

This has been a hectic weekend. For those of you who know me, know that my dad has been staying with me after an operation three weeks ago removing a blood clot from an artery in his neck. He had been doing well then Thursday he seemed to take a turn for the worst, he was incredibly sleepy and lost his apetite (not at all like him!). Friday i took him to the doctors and they prescribed him some anti-biotics after confirming he had some fluid on his lungs. The plan was for dad to return home Sunday (thats today). Fortunately the anti-biotics did the trick and dad was feeling better Saturday, i wanted him to stay here with us for a few more days but he insisted on returning home. Hubby is on his way back now from dropping him back home in Lydd.

I had the dreaded dentist appointment on Friday, i think i was more scared of being told off for not having a check up sooner than the tooth ache! as it turned out i had the most lovely dentist, infact he resembled Richard Gere, and had the most lovely softly spoken voice! Anyway it would appear its nothing drastic, not really. Its an old filling causing the trouble, but because the tooth is right at the back and difficult to get to he has said to leave it unless i get more pain. My options are a root canal filling (which he explained would be very difficult because its so far back) or extraction. Well i have decided on the later, when the time comes. I have an appointment with the hygienist when we come back from our holiday and thats me done for six months.

As Maria said, the thought of going is much worse than being there! Basically ladies im a big baby!!

Talking of babies, my friend Kim has become a grandmother today, her daughter having given birth to little Isabella. Congratulations to Kim and her daugher Claire.

As if that wasn't enough, my babies have laid eggs!!! yes my beardies have been producing!! i can hardly believe it. For those of you not familiar with my babies, here they are!! So this afternoon we had to go and buy an incubator, and hopefully in little less than 90 days we will have baby beardies!!
Well thats my weekend activities, i trust you lovelies have had a wonderful weekend, i am off to do a bit of blog hopping before bed.
Have a good evening, hugs Linda x

Firday again Happy Birthdays

Friday morning again, and another week gone. May already where is the year going? It has been another busy week, with on crafting from me yet. These two cards are what i made last week for a couople of special ladies birthdays. I know the cards have been received now so am safe to post them.

I trust everyone is having a good week, the weather has not been so nice this week, but we are still having sunny intervals, which keeps me going!

I have been having trouble with one of my teeth for a while now but wednesday i was forced to book a dentist appointment. I am going this afternoon, and ladies i can't tell you how much im dreading it. What a baby i am and such a bad example to my children!!! i know i should go for regular check ups but im too scared, so this is my punishment - toothache!

It is coming up to my blog anniversary in just over a month, so i will be gathering together a lovely blog candy for you all, so please keep an eye out for it over the next week or so.

So this card was made using some papers from a QVC tsv. The image of course is one of the delightful whiff of joy!

I used liquid pearls around the outside of my mount. Flowers are a punch with diamante centres.

This is the poem i made up for the inside of the card. I'll never be a poet, but it came from the heart!

I have only just started decorating the inside of my cards, but am really getting into it.

This is the gorgeous image from Pollycrafts. I love these girls, and don't use them half as much as i should. I suspect most of you are like me, too many stamps and not enough time to ink them ! its criminal, but the days just seem to get shorter, and more and more gorgeous stamps are being put in temptations way!

Papers are from my local craft shop, an A5 pad brought made moons ago. Only just managed to bring myself to cut it up!

So ladies, i hope you have a good day whatever you are doing, one thing is for sure, its likely to be better than my trip to the Dentists!
Hugs for now Linda x
